Competition
During both days, subdivided within ages and level, a competition will be held in two categories; Speed and Style.
Signup for both categories can be done through the purchase of tickets and vouchers. Tickets and vouchers, just like the regular entrance tickets, can be found under Signup. Note; Full is Full.
Only purchasing a ticket/voucher for the competition will not be sufficient to enter the event. All participants are expected to have purchased a regular entrance ticket for the IFKF.
SPeed
During the Speed competition, the participants are challenged to complete a route (established by the organization) as soon as possible. A fixed starting point and a fixed endpoint will be determined. Between these points, a coloured line needs to be followed. The jury will assess the score of the participant on two criteria:
1. The time in which the run is succeeded
2. The execution of the run (amount of errors)
For each age category, a different route will be established, to make sure the challenge is equal in each category. In addition, there is also a recreational and advanced category. It’s up to the participant to determine in which category he/she belongs. Advanced participants are participants whom already train for a long time, compete frequently in other competitions and/or are in selected (pro) teams.
Rules Speed
- The goal is to move as quickly as possible from point A to point B without while following the predetermined line.
- Each age group has its own coloured line. De colour of the line that is supposed to be followed can be found on both the ticket and the paper wristband (obtained at the entrance of the event).
- The movements used during the are not predetermined, the participant is free to use whatever move he/she wants to use.
- Participants have to overcome all obstacles which are part of the line. Irregular passing or passing around the obstacle will result in a time penalty or disqualification.
- The use of knees and/or elbows will result in a time penalty of 1 second for each instance.
- For Group 1 and Group 2 the irregular passing of an obstacle will result in a time penalty of 3 seconds.
- For Group 3 the irregular passing of an obstacle will result in disqualification.
- In passing an obstacle, the participant is supposed to go over the obstacle with its centre of gravity (unless mentioned otherwise)
- The organization will always run a backup timer of the run. In case the central timer stops working, this time will be seen as the official time.
- In all instances in which the regulations do not decide, the organization will decide.
Style
During the Style competition, the participants are challenged to create a run in their own favour. Participants can determine their own starting point. The route the participants take can be determined by the participant itself, as long as the run will not be any longer than 45 seconds. All movements after 45 seconds will not be judged by the jury.
Style will, in Group 1 (up till 11 years old), only be available for advanced participants, just as in the prior editions of the IFKF. This is because the organization believes it’s too difficult for recreational participants in this age group to create a run.
Each participant will be assessed by a jury. The assessment of the run will be based on the following criteria:
1. Execution
2. Flow
3. Level of difficulty
4. Performance
Rules Style
- In the Style competition, the participant individually creates a run as creative as possible
- Participants are free to determine which obstacles are used in the run, excluding obstacles excluded by the organization.
- Each individual judge will score the participant on multiple criteria on a scale from 1 to 100. All scores together will form the end result.
- Participants in Group 3 (15 years old and up) can choose their own music during their run. The organization would like to the music file no later than 14 days in advance of the event (1 February 2020). Make sure you name the file: name_category/level and send this to info@ifkf.nl or by WeTransfer. Participants are responsible for supplying the right file.
- In all instances in which the regulations do not decide, the organization will decide.
